About Changing Your XM Account Type
XM does not allow you to directly change the account type of an existing trading account.
Instead, you can open an additional account with a new account type.
How to Change (Effectively Switch)
Log in to the Membership Page
Select “Open an Additional Account”
Select the desired account type
Standard Account
Micro Account
KIWI Account
Zero Account
Set up your trading platform (MT4/MT5), base currency, etc.
Account Opening Complete → Start Trading with Your New Account
- Your existing account will remain as is (you can also delete it).
Points to Note When Changing Account Type
① Active Positions
Positions and orders will not be carried over.
The new account will be treated as a completely separate account.
② Bonus Handling
Some account types may not be eligible for bonuses.
Zero Account: Deposit bonuses not available.
Bonus balances cannot be automatically transferred between accounts.
Bonus balances may be lost when funds are transferred.
③ Fund Transfers
You can transfer funds between accounts from the member page.
However, be aware of bonus conditions.

① Existing account types cannot be changed.
Direct changes to account types are not possible.
You will need to open an additional account of the desired type.
Your old account will remain (you can make it dormant or delete it if you no longer need it).
② Positions and orders will not be carried over.
The new account will be a completely separate account.
Open positions, limit orders, and stop-loss orders cannot be transferred.
You must settle your positions before changing your account.
③ Bonuses may be lost or ineligible.
Bonus conditions vary depending on the account type.
Zero Account: Not eligible for deposit bonuses.
If you transfer funds from a bonus account to an account that is not eligible,
👉 your bonus will be lost.
Be sure to check the bonus terms and conditions before transferring funds between accounts.
④ Restrictions on transfers between accounts.
You can transfer funds from the member’s page.
However, please note the following:
Bonuses cannot be transferred.
Your available margin may be reduced.
Loss of bonuses increases the risk of a stop-loss.
⑤ Trading conditions will change significantly.
