FXGT Overview and Features
FXGT is a “hybrid” overseas broker that allows you to trade FX, cryptocurrencies, and stock CFDs in a single environment. While its high leverage, cryptocurrency CFD offerings, and numerous bonus programs are particularly noteworthy, there are also points to consider as it is an overseas broker not registered with the Japanese Financial Services Agency.
FXGT Overview
FXGT is an overseas broker offering multiple asset classes, including FX (foreign exchange), cryptocurrencies, stock indices, energy, metals, and stock CFDs. Its official website strongly emphasizes the ability to trade traditional financial markets and digital assets in the same trading environment.
1) Wide Range of Tradable Instruments
FXGT’s official FAQ and website list the following asset classes:
FX (Foreign Exchange)
Cryptocurrency Pairs
Synthetic Cryptocurrency Pairs
Precious Metals
Energy
Stock Indices
Stock CFDs
Some Proprietary Index Products
A distinctive feature is its high emphasis on cryptocurrencies, resulting in a design that prioritizes the usability of “FX + Cryptocurrency” trading compared to typical overseas FX brokers.
2) Very High Leverage
FXGT offers leverage up to 1:5000 depending on the account type. High leverage is prominently featured on their official website, making it an attractive option for those prioritizing short-term trading or trading with small capital.
However, high leverage also amplifies both profits and losses, making it extremely dangerous for beginners to immediately use maximum leverage. While appealing, it also represents the greatest risk.
3) Multiple Account Types
The official website offers several account types tailored to different purposes. Representative examples include:
OPTIMUS
PRO
ECN ZERO
STANDARD
CRYPTOX (Availability varies by region)
Roughly speaking, the following distinctions are helpful:
Beginner-friendly → Accounts similar to STANDARD/MINI accounts
Cost-conscious → PRO
Minimum spread, suitable for short-term trading → ECN ZERO
Cryptocurrency-focused → CRYPTOX
This is a helpful way to understand the different types.
4) Different Spread and Commission Structures
FXGT’s key feature is its different cost structure depending on the account type.
PRO and STANDARD accounts: Primarily commission-free
ECN ZERO: Narrow spreads, but with separate commissions
In other words,
“A narrow spread doesn’t necessarily mean cheaper.”
While ECN might be suitable for short-term trading, beginners will find accounts with easily understandable total costs easier to use.
5) Strong Bonus and Campaigns
FXGT, like many overseas brokers, prominently features bonus programs. The official FAQ outlines:
Welcome bonuses
Milestone bonuses
Loyalty bonuses
Other reward systems
However, it’s important to note that bonuses themselves are generally treated as trading credit, not withdrawable cash.
While profits can be withdrawn, the bonus itself is generally not. Misunderstanding this can easily lead to disappointment.
6) Supports Copy Trading
The official website highlights Copy Trading as one of its features. Even those who don’t engage in discretionary trading can copy and utilize the strategies of other traders.
However, while copy trading may seem convenient, it’s not a “set-up system that guarantees wins.”
Even high-performing strategies can suddenly collapse when market conditions change.
7) Supports MT4/MT5 and Proprietary Apps
FXGT’s official website offers MT4, MT5, and its proprietary apps (FXGT App / FXGT Trader).
Therefore, it’s designed to accommodate a certain degree of users who:
Want to use automated trading (EAs)
Want to engage in discretionary trading
Want to primarily use it on their smartphones

WebTrader offers the following advantages:
No software installation required
Starts immediately in your browser
Easy to use on a PC
In other words, for your first time, it’s perfectly fine to “start with WebTrader → install MT4/MT5 once you’re comfortable”
How to Use MT4 and MT5
This guide provides a clear and concise explanation of the basic usage and procedures for MT4/MT5, assuming you’re using FXGT, focusing on “what to press first.”
In short, for beginners, knowing these five things is sufficient: “Login → Display Chart → Select Currency Pair → Place Order → Close Position.”
FXGT’s official guide also requires your account number, password, and server name to log in.
First Things to Remember: The Initial Flow of Using MT4/MT5
Initially, just remember this order.
Log in to your FXGT account
Display the Market Watch (Currency List)
Open the Chart
Place an Order
Check Profit/Loss and Close Position
The basic usage of both MT4 and MT5 is quite similar.
The difference is that MT5 has a slightly newer appearance and some newer features.
① How to Log In (PC/Smartphone Common Approach)
These three things are necessary when logging into MT4/MT5 with FXGT.
Login ID (Account Number)
Trading Password
Server Name
Real Account: FXGT-Live / FXGT-Live2
Demo Account: FXGT-Demo
Where to Check on FXGT My Page
According to FXGT’s instructions, login information can be found on My Page → “Account” → “…” for the target account → “Account Information”.
Note
The FXGT member page password and
MT4/MT5 trading password are different.
Many people make this mistake.
② How to View the Screen (Where to Look First)
When you open MT4/MT5, you will mainly use these four areas.
Frequently Used Areas on PC Version
Quotes (Upper Left)
This is a list of prices for currency pairs and gold, etc.
Example:
EURUSD
USDJPY
XAUUSD (Gold)
Chart (Center)
This screen shows price movements.
You will enter trades while looking at this.
Navigator (Bottom Left or Left Side)
This is where you manage your accounts, indicators, EAs, etc.
Terminal / Toolbox (Bottom)
This is where you check:
Open Positions
Profit/Loss
Order History
Balance
③ How to Display Currency Pairs (Symbols)
It’s recommended to start by looking at USD/JPY (US Dollar/Japanese Yen) or EUR/USD (Euro/US Dollar).
PC Version Procedure
MT4/MT5 Common
Look at “Market Watch” in the upper left corner
Find the symbol you want to see
Right-click
“Show Chart”
This will display the chart.
If it’s not displayed
If you can’t find the symbol:
Right-click on Market Watch
“Show All”
This often increases the number of options.
④ How to Make Charts Easier to Read
Charts can be difficult to read at first, so adjusting these settings will make it much easier.
Things to Change First
Timeframe (Candlestick Unit)
Use M1 / M5 / M15 / H1 / H4 / D1 at the top of the screen.
Here’s what they mean:
M1 = 1-minute chart
M5 = 5-minute chart
M15 = 15-minute chart
H1 = 1-hour chart
H4 = 4-hour chart
D1 = Daily chart
Beginner’s Guide
Viewing Short-Term Trends → M5 / M15
Viewing Overall Trends → H1 / H4
Initially,
“Viewing Trends with H1 → Entering with M15”
This is sufficient.
Switch to Candlestick Charts
Select Candlestick Chart Display from the icon at the top of the chart.
This is more common than line charts.
Zoom In/Out
You can adjust the chart width using the magnifying glass + / – buttons.
⑤ How to Place an Order (Most Important)
This is the core of trading.
MT4/MT5 primarily uses two types of orders.
The two you should learn first:
Market Order
“Buy/Sell immediately at the current price” order
Limit/Stop Order
“Buy/Sell when the price reaches this level” pending order
Initially, it’s enough to just use market orders.
⑥ How to Place a Market Order (PC Version)
Steps
Open the chart you want to trade on.
Click “New Order” at the top.
The order screen will open.
Enter the following:
What to Enter
Symbol (Example: USDJPY)
Quantity (Lots)
Stop Loss (SL)
Take Profit (TP)
Order Type → Market Order
“Buy” for buying
“Sell” for selling
That completes the order.
⑦ Understanding Quantity (Lots)
This is extremely important.
This is where beginners are most likely to make mistakes.
Examples
0.01 lot → Very small amount
0.10 lot → Slightly small
1.00 lot → Quite large
Beginners should start with 0.01 lot.
Especially with FXGT, high leverage is available, so increasing the lot size too much can be dangerous in an instant.
⑧ How to set Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP)
It’s safer to set these from the beginning when placing an order.
Terminology
SL (Stop Loss) = Stop Loss
→ Automatically stops losses
TP (Take Profit) = Take Profit
→ Automatically locks in profits
Example (Buy Order)
For example, if you want to buy USDJPY at 150.000:
SL: 149.700
TP: 150.500
You can set it like this.
In short:
Cut your losses if the price falls
Take profits if the price rises
For beginners, holding positions without a stop-loss is dangerous.

Differences between MT4 and MT5 on FXGT
In short, the difference between MT4 and MT5 used on FXGT is:
“MT4 = Standard, lightweight, and with a wealth of EAs and indicators”
“MT5 = Newer, highly functional, with strong analysis and usability”
While FXGT itself supports both, the accounts are separate and not compatible. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand that MT4 accounts can only be used with MT4, and MT5 accounts with MT5.
If you’re unsure, consider this:
Beginners starting out → MT5
Want to use many EAs (automated trading) and older indicators → MT4
Prioritize lightness and standard feel → MT4
Prioritize extensive functionality and ease of analysis → MT5
Honestly, if you’re starting fresh now, MT5 is the safer choice.
However, since many EAs and indicators distributed online are still geared towards MT4, choosing MT4 is less likely to result in a mistake unless you already know which tools you want to use.
FXGT’s MT4 vs. MT5 Comparison Chart
This comparison aligns with FXGT’s official platform comparison and FXGT’s Japanese explanatory articles. In particular, the timeframes (MT4 has 9, MT5 has 21), and the fact that MT5 has stronger analysis and execution capabilities are clear.
① Biggest Difference: MT5 is Newer and More Functional
MT5 is designed as the successor to MT4 and is easier to use as FXGT’s newer standard platform.
These are the main differences.
It has many chart analysis functions.
It allows for detailed use of timeframes.
Order book information is available.
It has newer processing.
Backtesting and multi-instrument analysis are easier.
In short, MT5 is generally easier to use.
If you’re starting discretionary trading with FXGT, you’ll likely encounter very few problems with MT5.
② The number of timeframes is significantly different.
This is a difference that even beginners can easily understand.
MT4
9 types
M1
M5
M15
M30
H1
H4
D1
W1
MN
MT5
21 types
In addition to the above,
M2 / M3 / M4 / M6 / M10 / M12 / M20 / H2 / H3 / H6 / H8 / H12 etc. are available.
What is this useful for?
For example,
If a 5-minute chart is too detailed
If a 15-minute chart is a bit too rough
In such cases, MT5 allows you to use 10-minute or 12-minute charts.
In other words, MT5 makes it easier to create the “just right” way to view the chart.
③ MT4 has a strong asset base of EAs and indicators
This is MT4’s greatest strength.
Because MT4 has been used for many years,
Free EAs
Paid EAs
Custom indicators
Online tutorials
YouTube tutorials
There is an abundance of these.
④ However, MT4 EAs do not work on MT5 (and vice versa)
This is quite important.
MT4 and MT5 are not compatible.
That is,
MT4 EAs → Cannot be used on MT5
MT4 indicators → Cannot be used on MT5
MT5 EAs → Cannot be used on MT4
FXGT’s Japanese guide also clearly states that automated trading is separated into MT4 and MT5 versions and is not compatible. Therefore, if you plan to install an EA later, it’s important to confirm which platform’s EA you’ll be using before creating an account.
⑤ MT5 is easier for analysis
FXGT’s official website highlights the following features of MT5:
38 built-in indicators
22 analysis tools
46 drawing objects
21 timeframes
Market Depth (DOM)
On the other hand, MT4 is positioned as a simple and standard analysis environment.
⑥ MT5 offers slightly more detailed order handling
FXGT’s official comparison states that MT5 offers greater order flexibility than MT4.
In particular, MT5 makes it easier to handle more detailed orders, such as Stop Limit orders.
However, beginners will mostly only use these two types of orders initially:
Market orders
Limit orders / Stop orders
Therefore, there isn’t much difference at the initial stage.
The difference becomes apparent once you become more familiar with the platform.
⑦ MT4 is lightweight, MT5 is better overall.
In short:
Want it to run smoothly even on an older PC? → MT4
Want it to run comfortably on a newer environment? → MT5
FXGT comparison articles generally state that MT4 is lightweight and easy to use, while MT5 is 64-bit based and has high processing performance.
Troubleshooting MT4/MT5 Download Issues
When you can’t download MT4/MT5 from FXGT, it’s often not that you “can’t download” it, but rather that:
① You’re not accessing the official website
② Your OS or device is incompatible
③ The download is blocked by security or store settings
① If you can’t download from the official FXGT website
This is the most basic troubleshooting step.
Troubleshooting Steps
A. Change your browser
If your current browser isn’t working, try:
Chrome
Edge
Safari (Mac/iPhone)
B. Open in Incognito/Private Mode
Browser cache and cookies can sometimes cause buttons to be unresponsive or pages to display outdated information.
Reopening in incognito mode may resolve the issue.
C. Reload the page
This is simple, but surprisingly effective.
Ctrl + F5 (Windows)
Shift + Reload
Force Reload (Mac)
This will clear the cache and refresh the page.
D. Avoid FXGT Maintenance Times
FXGT’s guidelines state that service may be disrupted during regular maintenance and server maintenance. It’s especially safer to avoid Monday nights (Japan time).
② If you cannot download on Windows
Common Causes
Security software is blocking the download
Incorrect permissions in the download folder
Outdated browser settings are interfering
Proxy/VPN interference
Attempting to open a file that is not for Windows
Solutions
A. Temporarily check your security software
Antivirus software or Windows Defender may block the file as an “unfamiliar executable.”
B. Change the download location to “Desktop”
Folder permission issues may prevent saving.
Try saving the file to a different location, such as:
Desktop
Downloads
Documents
C. Disable VPN/Proxy
In some environments, VPN or corporate network restrictions may prevent the download of .exe files.
This is especially common on company and school PCs.
D. Run with administrator privileges
If you were able to download the file but can’t open it,
right-click the installer
select “Run as administrator”
This may help.
③ If you can’t download/install on a Mac
Macs often have “cannot open” problems rather than download problems.
Common messages:
“Cannot open because the developer cannot be verified”
“Blocked because it’s not from the App Store”
This is not a malfunction, but a standard macOS protection.
Solutions
A. Allow it from “System Settings”
The procedure is roughly as follows:
System Settings
Privacy & Security
At the bottom, you’ll see
“Open Anyway” or “Allow”
Open the app again
This type of block is quite common on Macs.
B. Check if you are using the Mac version
This is surprisingly common.
Trying to open the Windows version of MT4/MT5 on a Mac
Confused about Intel/Apple Silicon
Always follow the Mac-specific instructions.
C. Check your storage space
If you have insufficient storage space,
the download may stop midway
or the installation may fail
As a guideline, delete unnecessary files and free up at least several GB for peace of mind.
④ If you cannot install MT4/MT5 on your iPhone
On iPhones, the problem is often with the App Store or Apple ID/device settings.
Note that the MetaTrader 4/5 iOS apps themselves are currently available on the App Store. MetaQuotes is also reported to be available again on the App Store.
Solutions
A. Search for the official name in the App Store
These are safe search terms:
MetaTrader 4
MetaTrader 5
Searching only for “MT4” or “MT5” may result in other apps with similar names being included.
B. Check your Apple ID restrictions
The following may be the cause:
Age Restrictions
Purchase Restrictions
Screen Time Restrictions
Family Sharing Restrictions
If you can install other apps from the App Store but not MT4/MT5, you should suspect this.
C. Update iOS
An older iOS version may fail due to store display or compatibility issues.
Settings
General
Software Update
You can check this there.
D. If Direct Installation from the App Store Fails, Restart
This is quite primitive, but it works.
Restart iPhone
Restart App Store
Re-log in to Apple ID
This may resolve the issue.
⑤ If You Cannot Install MT4/MT5 on Android
Android installations are often caused by compatibility issues on Google Play and device storage capacity.
Solutions
A. Install from Google Play
The following are safe search terms:
MetaTrader 4
MetaTrader 5
Avoid unofficial APKs and suspicious distribution sites.
B. Check Available Storage Space
Android devices become quite unstable with insufficient storage space.
Download failure
Installation failure
Update failure
These are common problems.
C. Clear the Play Store cache
Example steps:
Settings
Apps
Google Play Store
Storage
Clear cache
This may fix the problem.
D. Update the Android OS
Older devices may get stuck during compatibility checks.

Frequently Asked Questions
This section summarizes frequently asked questions (FAQs) about FXGT’s MT4/MT5 platform, ordered by common stumbling blocks for beginners.
In short, most of the points of difficulty fall into three categories: “Differences in login information,” “Server selection,” and “Differences between MT4/MT5 accounts.” These are also highlighted as key points to check in the official FXGT FAQ.
Which should a beginner use, MT4 or MT5?
If you’re unsure, MT5 is fine.
MT4 is suitable for:
Those who want to use older EAs (Expert Advisors) or indicators
Those who prioritize lightness
Those who prefer a traditional, standard environment
MT5 is suitable for:
Those who want to start trading normally
Those who want easier chart analysis
Those who prefer more features
For beginners focusing on discretionary trading, MT5 is a safer choice.
Can MT4 and MT5 be used with the same account?
Basically, they are separate.
In short:
MT4 account → Use with MT4
MT5 account → Use with MT5
This is the key point.
You may not be able to log in to MT5 even if you enter your MT4 account number. FXGT’s instructions also state that MT4/MT5 logins are based on the assumption that you use the respective account information.
What do I need to log in to MT4/MT5?
You need these three things:
Login ID (account number)
Trading password
Server name
FXGT’s official FAQ states that these can be found in the email sent when you opened your account or in the “MT4/MT5 Account” list on your member page.
Are my member page password and my MT4/MT5 password the same?
No, they are different.
This is a very common mistake.
Login Information for the Member Page
Email Address
Password for the Member Page
Login Information for MT4/MT5
Account Number
Trading Password
Server Name
FXGT’s official guide clearly states that the login information for the Member Page and the login information for MT4/MT5 are different.
Which server name should I choose?
Usually, it’s like this:
Real Account → FXGT-Live or FXGT-Live2
Demo Account → FXGT-Demo
FXGT’s official FAQ also instructs you to select the appropriate server when logging in.
Caution
If you select the wrong server, you will not be able to log in even if your ID and password are correct.
Where can I check my MT4/MT5 login information?
There are two ways to check:
① Account Opening Email
Check the account information email you received from FXGT.
② FXGT Member Page
You can check it from the “MT4/MT5 Account” list on the Member Page.
The FXGT official FAQ states that you can check your login information and change your password from here.
What should I do if I forget my password?
You can change it from your member page.
The FXGT official FAQ explains how to do this by selecting “Change Password” from the action button in the upper right corner of each account.
Key Points
It’s easier to deal with if you can access your member page.
When you can’t log in, the first thing to suspect is an incorrect password.
Why does it say “Authorization Failed”?
This almost always means
“Incorrect Login ID or Password.”
The FXGT official FAQ also explains that this error indicates an error in login information or password.
Solutions
Reconfirm your account number
Reconfirm your password
Confirm the server name
Reset your password if necessary
The FXGT server doesn’t appear in MT4/MT5
This is surprisingly common.
Common Causes
Using a version of MT4/MT5 from a different company
Server search failed
Initial setup stopped midway
FXGT’s instructions advise using the official FXGT version of MT4/MT5 if the server doesn’t appear, and performing a server search (scan) as needed.
Solutions
Reinstall from the official FXGT website
Enter “FXGT” in the search bar
Close and restart the application
